August New Research Scientist Joins the Lab Dr. Hani Mahdi has joined the lab as a visiting Research Scientist. Summer New Ph.D. Students Join the Lab Three new Ph.D. students have joined the lab. They are Ayman El-Baz, Mohamed Sabry, and Refaat Mohamed. June The FANUC robot arm is received and installed in the lab The new FANUC M-6i robot arm has arrived, along with the associated control equipment. The arm has been installed in the lab, and is functional. May Yurong Li Graduates Yurong Li has graduated, with a M.Eng Thesis done in the lab. Yurong’s thesis is “Motion Tracking in an Active Vision System.” March 30 CVIP Lab projects are cited in a Courier-Journal story. The CardEye and Jaw Project are cited in a news story in the Louisville, KY newspaper, The Courier-Journal. The projects are presented as examples of research developments that could be commercialized through the company Minerva Ventures, that has been created by UofL to market research and services.
