This two-part “lunch and learn” focuses on federal proposal development and more particularly National Science Foundation (NSF) funding opportunities. Topics include types of funding opportunities; current trends in federal funding for Science, Technology, Mathematics and Science STEM basic research, infrastructure, education and center solicitations and awards; best practices and common mistakes in proposal development; and NSF broadening participation and broader impact strategies. Participants will gain an understanding of federal proposal development, the infrastructure and management policies needed to support a funded research portfolio and strategies for broader impact and broadening participation planning and design.
