Sareea Claims Professional Award in Computer Engineering

Ali Sareea was presented with the 2019 Professional Award in Computer Engineering during the annual Speed School homecoming dinner held October 25 at the Brown Hotel.

Sareea has served as Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Atria Senior Living since February 2015. In this role, he provides strategic oversight of company-wide information technology activities, and developing applications and stable infrastructure capabilities across community and Support Center functions.

Mr. Sareea brings more than 22 years of IT expertise with focus on Systems Development, e-commerce and business intelligence applications. Prior to joining Atria, he was CIO of HD Supply Facilities Maintenance a division of the $8 billion industrial distributor HD Supply Inc. and former division of Home Depot. He held various roles during his nine- year tenure and helped build company-wide technology solutions that enabled the company to go public in 2013.

He started his career working with General Electric (GE) as an intern and member of the Information Management Leadership Program progressing to lead large, global teams in various technical and management roles as Applications Architect, and leader for B2B eCommerce, Sales Force, and Business Intelligence Center of Excellence during his 10-year tenure. He is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt.

Mr. Sareea holds a Bachelors of Science in computer engineering from Bellarmine University, a Master’s in computer science from the University of Louisville and a Master in Business Administration from Vanderbilt University.
