The company has a long and strong history of partnership with Speed School of Engineering and promoting the success of its students. Since 2004, they have hosted 575 students in co-ops for 1314 co-op rotations.
In 2019, GE hosted 50 engineering co-op rotations for 35 students as well as several capstone projects from various departments. Always responsive to student needs, GE recently reallocated funds for the University Career Center to use to provide interview wear for students. The company has also pledged to continue to assist underserved students with its support of the Brown Forman Engineering Academy for the next five years.
“GE Appliances has long been a local partner with the University of Louisville and the Speed School of Engineering because we know that it’s important for us to help create opportunities and light the spark of innovation in the next generation of great engineers,” said Kevin Nolan, President & CEO of GE Appliances, a Haier company. “We appreciate the recognition from UofL, but we gain so much value from being a true partner with this community’s premier research university, and I know we’ll continue working with UofL to increase the diversity of engineering students and ensure their success.”
