Brief Biography: Suraj M. Alexander earned his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Madras, India. He received his masters and doctoral degrees in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech). He is a Licensed Professional Engineer and a Certified Quality Engineer. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Industrial Engineers and the American Society of Quality.Dr. Alexander joined the J.B. Speed School of Engineering at the University of Louisville in 1976. Prior to that Dr. Alexander was on the faculty of the Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research at Virginia Tech.
