James Watters
Dr. Watters has been a member of the Chemical Engineering faculty at University of Louisville since 1977 when he graduated with the PhD from University of Maryland. He is currently a Professor. He served as department chair from 1990 to 1998 and again from 2004 until he stepped down in August 2014. During his tenure as chair he supervised the hiring of many of the current ChE faculty and oversaw five accreditation visits by ABET Inc., including the most recent one in 2012 which saw the re-accreditation of both BS and MEng programs in what is the only dual-level accredited ChE program in the US. He also holds an MS-Chemical Engineering degree from University of Maryland and a BE(Chemical) from University College Dublin, a branch of the National University of Ireland. A native of Dublin, Ireland, Jim enjoys all things Irish -- history, music, language and literature.
