Dr. Arinan Dourado

Asst Professor

Arinan Dourado, Ph.D., is a faculty member of the Mechanical Engineering program at the University of Louisville. 

Prior to joining UofL, he worked as a Lecturer at the Polytechnic Faculty of Uberlandia (UNA - Brazil) from 2016 to 2018, and as an Instructor in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Central Florida (2019-2021). In addition to his teaching activities at the University of Central Florida, Dr. Dourado was also a research scientist working on developing and applying physics-informed neural networks for anomaly detection and prediction in the health management of large industrial equipment. The central theme of his research is the use of interpretable machine learning tools to identify and compensate for uncertain and/or unexpected effects in engineering systems response.
