Congratulations to Dr. Elizabeth Gentry, Assistant Professor of Industrial Engineering and Director of the Masters of Engineering in Engineering Management (MEEM) Online Program, for her recognition with the Society of Health Systems (SHS) President’s Award for 2021. SHS is a society within Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE).

“This is a very prestigious award bestowed upon an individual who has made numerous contributions towards the growth and visibility of this society,” said Dr. Pratik Parikh, Chairperson and Professor, Industrial Engineering. “This is well deserved for her outstanding service to SHS and IISE. Liz’s continual effort towards enhancing Industrial Engineering’s and Speed School’s reputation and visibility, nationally and globally, is much appreciated,” said Pratik.

Gentry, who is a Six Sigma Black Belt and teaches the program at Speed School, said the SHS award is meaningful because the Society is very important to her. “Through volunteering with SHS, I have met so many amazing people that have become friends,” said Gentry. “The Society has helped me learn leadership skills through volunteer positions, and network with people all around the world working to improve healthcare processes.”
