Civil Engineer

PhD in Civil Engineering at the University of Illinois, 1975.

Professor of Civil Engineering at UofL, 1975-2013. Recipient of numerous teaching and advising awards, including the Distinguished Teaching Professor Award and the Provost’s Award for Exemplary Advising.

Registered professional engineer and a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers.

Inducted into the U of L Athletic Hall of Fame (cross country and track) in 1996.

Member of the German-American Club Gesangverein and the Sister Cities of Louisville Mainz Committee.

Co-editor with wife Vicky of “Germans in Louisville: A History,” published in 2015.

Past-president of the Flaget Alumni Association; member of the University of Louisville L-Club and the Sons of the American Revolution; and a parishioner of St. Brigid Catholic Church
