Accuplacer Testing

Starting in the right mathematics course will assure that you succeed with confidence. Students who perform well in their first mathematics course (of any level) are much more likely to succeed in their program of study. For this reason, we encourage everyone to take the Accuplacer exam. The Accuplacer, combined with your other admissions information, will help the admissions and advising team make the best decision to position you for success.

UofL staff will individually review your record to determine if you will benefit from Math placement testing. In some cases, test scores are used to meet prerequisites for enrollment in courses, so it’s important that we have your most up-to-date scores. If our staff determines you need to complete placement testing, a checklist item will be added in your New Cards Gateway and we will communicate with you via email. Accuplacer placement exams need to be completed prior to orientation.
