The Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department offers its students a variety of scholarships. Each scholarship has separate requirements and guidelines for students to qualify to apply. James D. Barnhouse Memorial Scholarships | The award is presented annually to support a deserving student majoring in Electrical Engineering at the J. B. Speed School of Engineering. The award is in memory of James D. Barnhouse, a Speed School graduate (BEE ‘70), who was responsible for the design and implementation of the Community Core exhibits at Walt Disney’s EPCOT Center. | ECE students in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th years who are studying for the BSEE or MEng in EE are eligible to apply. Previous winners of this award, and M.S. and Ph.D. students are not eligible. This scholarship is based primarily on financial need. | Past awards have ranged from $400 to $1,000. Edward J. and Eunice B. Theobald Scholarship | The Edward J. and Eunice B. Theobald Scholarship Fund has been established to provide income that will be used for a scholarship to be awarded to a full-time electrical engineering student in the J. B. Speed School of Engineering. This scholarship is awarded to a student (or students) who best demonstrates academic achievement, entrepreneurial spirit, civic involvement, and a commitment to engineering science. | All full-time ECE students who will graduate on or after May 2022 are invited to apply. This includes undergraduates, M.Eng., MS and Ph.D students.
