The CyberCorps: Scholarship for Service (SFS) program is administered and funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) in cooperation with the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM). The program will prepare 20 full-time master students with superior cybersecurity skills for entry into the government workforce, including 10 BS (senior)+MENG CSE and 10 on-campus MS CS students. All SFS scholars will pursue UofL’s graduate certificate in cybersecurity and are required to participate in the SFS program activities such as cohort meetings, cybersecurity professional development, assigned research and learning activities, surveys, etc. Participants also need to maintain a 3.2 GPA. Scholarship benefits include full tuition and fees, a cost-of-living stipend, and reimbursement for travel expenses and professional development. Students awarded a scholarship incur a service obligation to the government upon graduation from UofL and are required to participate in a federal internship in cybersecurity during the summer semester.
