Speed School has the only program in the commonwealth of Kentucky accredited in both Computer Engineering and Computer Science. But that’s not the only thing that makes us unique. We’ve been a leader in the field since the department was created in 1971. You’ll be learning from internationally-acclaimed faculty – including four National Science Foundation CAREER award recipients.

After exhaustive national searches, the ME Department is pleased to welcome three outstanding new faculty.
Dr. Huacheng Zeng has earned a National Science Foundation CAREER AWARD.
UofL is strengthening its ties to the community and furthering science education with a $600,000 National Science Foundation (NSF) award. Speed School teams up with the College of Education and Human Development to establish a new site for the NSF’s Research Experiences for Teachers (RET) in Engineering programs.
