The Biomeasurements and Bioinstrumentation Laboratory is equipped with 10 PC workstations (20” LCD flat panels, Intel Core2 Duo, 4 GB Ram, Windows 7) that support National Instruments Educational Laboratory Virtual Instrumentation Suite hardware (NI ELVIS V. 4.x) and Data Acquisition software (NI LabVIEW 2012). Software tools installed on the workstations include SolidWorks 2017 (3D Modeling, FEA), MIMICS (Solid Model Segmentation and Meshing), CoventorWare (Finite Element Modeling), Silvaco (Microfabrication Process Modeling), Tanner Tools (L-Edit, IC Layout), MATLAB 2015, and MathCAD. The laboratory has 10 handheld Digital Multimeters (AMPROBE 5XP-A), 10 benchtop oscilloscopes (100 MHz RIGOL DS1102CA), 10 benchtop power supplies (MASTECH HY3005-3), 10 function generators (RIGOL DG2041A), 8 patient simulators (HE Instruments TechPatient CARDIO), and two Keithly 2400 Sourcemeters. Common electronics breadboarding equipment include 6 soldering stations (Weller WESD51), 10 Arduino UNO microcontroller development platforms, as well as a collection of resistors, capacitors, IC components, and physical sensors (temperature, pressure, etc.) for general use in projects, assignments, etc. An assortment of general tools (heat gun, hot glue gun, wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, etc.) is also available in the lab for student use. Three AMSCOPE SM-3B Stereo inspection (0.5, 1x, 2x lenses) microscopes with integrated HD USB cameras are also available.
