Alum Beth McFarland Honored with Professional Award in Electrical & Computer Engineering

Beth McFarland, with over 26 years in the electric utility industry, currently oversees LG&E and KU’s electric transmission systems. Her journey at LG&E and KU began in 1997 as an engineer, with roles spanning major projects and leadership in asset management. In her current role, she manages line and substation engineering, system planning, policy administration, and reliability compliance. McFarland, holding a master’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Louisville, is actively involved in the community and serves on the boards of the University of Louisville’s J.B. Speed School of Engineering Industrial Board of Advisors and the ACE Mentor Program (Louisville) Architecture-Construction-Engineering.
